2022 Roads Scholar/Road Master Graduation
The Technology Transfer Program (T2) is proud to announce that the 2022 Roads Scholar and Road Master Training Program Graduation ceremonies will be held in person at three different locations around the state. This year, 191 participants will graduate from Roads Scholar, 168 participants will graduate from Road Master, and 99 participants will graduate from both Training Programs.
The Roads Scholar Training Program provides an opportunity for road maintenance personnel to receive specialized training in the fundamentals of road maintenance, management procedures, and techniques in an effective and cost-efficient manner. To become a Roads Scholar, and individual must complete six required courses and three optional courses, totaling 53 hours of training.
Since the inception of the Roads Scholar Training Program in 1988, over 4,000 participants have graduated. The Road Master Training Program provides a more advanced level of technical information and builds upon the Roads Scholar Training Program. The program is designed to relate to those in a supervisory role. To become a Road Master, an individual must have completed the Roads Scholar Training Program and they must complete four required and three optional courses, totaling 42 additional hours of training. Since the inception of the Road Master Training Program in 1998, over 3,000 participants have graduated.
The graduations will open with remarks from the Kentucky Transportation Center Director, Dr. Doug Kreis, and Program Manager, Martha Horseman, followed by lunch and the presentation of graduates. All graduates have been mailed letters that include graduation logistics.
