Superpave Plant Technologist, New PersonnelRequirements Available Training Dates & Locations Registration The Kentucky Asphalt Qualification Program soon will begin its eighth season of technologist training and qualification. This program is a three-way partnership of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Transportation Center. The purpose of the program is to develop and maintain a pool of well-trained specialists for designing and managing hot-mix asphalt (HMA). Kentucky specifications and Federal mandates require qualified technologists on all HMA projects. Individuals who have never been previously qualified as an SPT must register for the 3.5- day SPT class. Please note that this training course is not meant for novices; experience and knowledge of basic HMA concepts and testing procedures is highly recommended. Anyone seeking an SMDT qualifications must hold, or be registered for, the prerequisite SPT qualification. Requirements SPT Prerequisites Available
