Training Courses

The Technology Transfer Program will offer both online and in-person training courses. 1) We are offering online, instructor-led courses through the Zoom platform. These courses can be accessed at home, the office or wherever you job takes you. All Zoom trainings are held on Eastern Standard Time. 2) We will also have in-person trainings held at various locations across the state. 3) Another training option is courses offered through Canvas. This is a learning management system, where participants can attend a course at their own pace during certain weeks of the month.

DLG Requirements

The Technology Transfer Program (T2) at UK, in agreement, with the Department for Local Government (DLG) will provide first-rate educational opportunities for elected officials. T2 has outlined the DLG requirements below for those elected officials needing GOLD hours. Those T2 approved courses are listed under the Local Officials Training Program.

  • The webinar must be live.
  • You must have your webcam on during the entire webinar.
  • You will only receive credit for the amount of time you are on the live webinar.

We are offering a variety of training styles to fit the course materials and participants. In some training courses, there is pre-work and field work that are done outside of regular training hours. Under DLG guidance, you will only receive credit hours for the time that you participate in-person (live with video streaming), so the pre-work and field work are optional for DLG credit. However, we encourage you to participate in these activities as they are essential for your roadways, and they will help you better prepare for the webinar. This option is only provided to elected officials under the DLG umbrella for training.

Zoom Meetings

Our online training courses are offered through the University's web conferencing software called Zoom. Zoom can be used on laptops, desktops, tablets, and smartphones. If you are unfamiliar with this platform, we have put together a User Guide and a video to help get you started!
