Roads Scholar and Road Master Training Courses

Information you need to know

Fees:  Fees for a Roads Scholar or Road Masters course are $70 for city and county employees; $80 for all others. The fees includes breaks, lunch and materials.

Agenda:  To reduce overtime and travel for transportation agency employees during this time of budget restrictions, course times have been set as follows: registration for each course begins at 8:15 a.m., training session begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The lunch break is 30 minutes.

Attendance:  To help a participant get the most out of each training session/workshop, attendance is limited 35-40 persons. However, without the required minimum of 15 people, a course will be cancelled. (The exception to this is Computer Familiarization, which is limited to 12 people.) All courses are subject to change. If there are any changes, the registered party will be notified immediately.

NOTE:  State employees wishing to register for a Roads Scholar or Road Master course should contact their District Training Coordinators. All state registrations must come to us from the Training Coordinators.

Cancellation:  If registered and cannot attend, please let us know at least two days prior to the course. If we do not receive advance notice, the registration fee will be charged.  Of course, someone may substitute for you at any time.

Time limit to complete courses: There is now a time limit of five years in which to complete all of the courses in a particular training track in order to receive your certificate for that particular training track. Any Roads Scholar course taken over five years before you complete your last Roads Scholar course will not count towards your Roads Scholar Certification. Likewise, any Road Master course taken over five years before you complete your last Road Master course will not count towards you Road Master Certification.

To receive credit for any of the Center's training sessions you must be present during the entire class. If you leave early or are missing during part of the session, you will not receive credit for the course.
