Asphalt Field Technician Training

Sponsored by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky, this four-hour certification course for Asphalt Field Technicians is a continuation of the current QC/QA process. Contractors will be required to have field personnel certified as Asphalt Field Technicians to qualify as bidders for the 2007 paving season. Those individuals successfully completing this course to become certified Asphalt Field Technicians will be qualified to oversee field placement of hot-mix asphalt for state highway projects.

Those who have the day-to-day control over the field paving operations.

Fee: Registration fee is $50 and includes materials and certification testing.

Date, Time, Location
Typically, class work begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 12:00 p.m. Class size is limited to 40 participants. State employees wishing to register for this course should contact their District Training Coordinators. All state registrations must come to us from the Training Coordinators. Cancellation: If registered and cannot attend, please let us know at least two days prior to the course. If we do not receive advance notice, the registration fee will be charged. Of course, someone may substitute for you at any time.
